The following students have been named to Berry College's fall 2014 Dean's List, according to Dr. Kathy Richardson, Berry College provost. The dean's list honors students who posted an academic average of 3.5 or better on a 4.0 scale while carrying a class load of at least 12 hours during the semester.

The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference announced its All-Academic Teams for the 2014 fall athletic season today and forty-six Peacock student-athletes earned recognition. To be eligible for this honor, the student-athlete must be a member of the varsity traveling team and have a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or better.

The following area residents were among 338 students who graduated from Georgia Southwestern State University during the Fall 2014 Commencement Ceremony held on Saturday, Dec. 13 in Convocation Hall of the Student Success Center.

Georgia College's Student Government Association (SGA) serves the campus community by addressing student concerns, promoting understanding within the college community and administering all matters which are delegated to the student government by the university president. All officers and senators are elected on a yearly basis.

The following local residents made the Summer 2014 Dean's List at Georgia Southwestern State University and were among 390 students recognized for scholastic achievement.

Students enrolled in 12 or more credit hours who achieved a 4.0 grade point average and who had no grade lower than B were named to the President's List.

Students enrolled in 12 or more credit hours in bachelor's degree programs who achieved a 4.0 grade point average and who had no grade lower than B, were named to the President's Honor Roll. Students enrolled in associate degree programs who met the same level of achievement, were named to the President's List.

More than 1,600 students made the spring 2014 Dean's Lists at the University of North Georgia (UNG) for achieving a 3.5 grade point average, carrying 12 or more credit hours in one semester and having no grade lower than B.

Samford University releases deans lists after the close of the fall and spring semesters each academic year. To qualify for the dean's list, a student must have earned a minimum 3.5 grade point average out of a possible 4.0 while attempting at least 12 credit hours of coursework. Dean's List is the highest academic recognition given by the school at the end of each semester.

This semester, UNG conferred a total of 1,445 degrees, including 603 associate, 718 bachelor's degrees, and 124 graduate degrees. UNG also awarded 10 one-year certificates for work in specialty areas. Additionally, 33 graduating members of the Corps of Cadets took oaths as second lieutenants in the National Guard or U.S. Army; commissioning ceremonies also were held separately on May 9. The university's spring commencement ceremonies were held May 9-10 on UNG's Dahlonega and Gainesville campuses.

Valdosta State University has announced the names of students from Spring 2014 who have earned the academic status of Dean's List. Students who achieve a semester GPA of 3.50 or higher on nine (9) or more semester hours with an institutional (VSU) GPA of 3.00 or higher are recognized by being placed on the Dean's List. Upper Iowa University recently held its 29th annual Scholarships and Awards Recognition Banquet and awarded 122 scholarships to students across the University. Of those, 98 scholarships were bestowed on UIU students attending classes in Fayette and another 24 were awarded to students who take courses through other UIU locations.
