Georgia Southern University recently recognized more than 2,700 students for excellence in academics on the Spring 2017 semester Dean's List. To be eligible for the Dean's List, a student must have at least a 3.5 grade point average and carry a minimum of 12 hours for the semester.

This achievement is presented to the students who participated in international education experiences with Georgia State University during the Spring 2017 semester.

The deans of each of UNG's five colleges - the College of Arts & Letters, the College of Education, the College of Health Sciences & Professions, the Mike Cottrell College of Business, and the College of Science & Mathematics - announced the names of those students who made their respective lists for spring 2017. Dean's List recognition is achieved by having at least a 3.5 grade point average, carrying 12 or more credit hours in one semester and having no grade lower than B.

University of North Georgia President Bonita Jacobs recognizes more than 1,300 students who achieved a 4.0 grade point average during the spring 2017 semester. Students enrolled in 12 or more credit hours in bachelor's degree programs who achieved a 4.0 grade point average were named to the President's Honor Roll. Students enrolled in associate degree programs who met the same level of achievement were named to the President's List.

A total of 11,101 students enrolled during the 2017 spring semester at The University of Alabama were named to the Dean's List with an academic record of 3.5 (or above) or the President's List with an academic record of 4.0 (all A's). The UA Dean's and President's lists recognize full-time undergraduate students. The lists do not apply to graduate students or undergraduate students who take less than a full course load.

On June 9, incoming students attended Oglethorpe's first summer orientation, known as a MAP (Making a Petrel) Day. The first-year students enrolled in their fall semester classes and received their Petrel Pass student I.D.

The Student Government Association serves as the official voice of the student body at Georgia State University, representing the students' interests to university leadership and to lobby on students' behalf.

The University of Alabama awarded approximately 5,000 degrees during spring commencement May 5-7. With a beautiful campus, hundreds of rigorous academic programs, world-renowned faculty and numerous opportunities for service and growth, The University of Alabama is a place where legends are made. In ceremonies held May 5-6 at the University of North Georgia, graduating cadets were awarded commissions as second lieutenants in the U.S. Army or Georgia National Guard.

The University of North Georgia awarded more than 1,800 degrees and certificates for the spring 2017 semester, including hundreds awarded in commencement exercises held May 5-7 at the university.

More than 370 accepted students have indicated their commitment to attend Oglethorpe University by submitting their enrollment deposit. We're excited to welcome these new "Stormy Petrels" to campus this fall! The Class of 2021 will begin classes on August 21, 2017.

Welcome home, Bobcat! On Friday, June 9, 2017, Georgia College welcomes the newest Georgia College students and their families to campus as they attend New Student Orientation. Orientation is a day-long program packed with opportunities for new students and transfer students to connect with faculty in their intended major and become familiar with the campus as well as the array of academic and campus life programs available. Orientation grants new members of the Bobcat family to "take care of business" as they prepare for move-in.

Coastal Carolina University has announced that 745 students made the President's honor list for high academic achievement for the 2017 Spring Semester. To qualify for the President's List for high academic achievement, students must earn a 4.0 grade point average and must be enrolled full time.

The GIVE Center released its list of Georgia College's top 20 volunteers for the 2016-2017 school year. The list is comprised of the 20 students with the most registered service hours for this academic year.

Troy University is pleased to announce students who have been named to the Chancellor's List for Term 3 of the 2016/2017 academic year. Full-time undergraduate students who are registered for at least 12 semester hours and who earn a grade point average of 4.0 qualify for the Chancellor's List. Term 3 includes students at TROY's campuses in Dothan, Phenix City and Montgomery, Ala., along with students outside of Alabama and online.
